Just finished hunting down Freeman's Lost Treasure in Skull and Bones and honestly, it's one of the most satisfying quests I've done in the game. The whole thing kicks off in Sainte-Anne when you find those purple-marked pirates willing to spill info if you slip them some Silver. They point you toward starting the investigation chain.

Here's the thing though - you need to complete seven separate investigations before Freeman's Lost Treasure even becomes findable. Yeah, seven. They're scattered all over the map, from the Western Basin near Africa all the way to the East Indies. Some pop up naturally when you chat with pirates or discover notes lying around, but others only unlock after you push through major story missions. It's a proper commitment.

The investigations themselves are pretty varied. You're sailing to different locations, piecing together clues, dealing with whatever challenges each area throws at you. It's not just mindless fetch questing - there's actual exploration involved. By the time you've gathered everything, you've basically mapped out half the game world.

Once you've knocked out all seven investigations, you head to Bukit Candi Outpost in the East Indies, just north of Telok Penjara. There's this grave site marked by a red beam of light - can't miss it. Dig it up and boom, Freeman's Lost Treasure is yours.

The rewards are pretty solid too. You get the Iron Will cosmetic, which is a nice flex if you're into that sort of thing. Plus you're looking at 10,000 Silver, 15 Fine Akaba, 15 Zinc Ingot, 15 Juniper Plank, five Sheet Glass, and five Screw Mechanism. That's a decent haul of crafting materials if you're building up your ship.

What makes Freeman's Lost Treasure worth doing is that it's not just a checklist. The quest actually makes you explore and think about the world they've built. You're not just grinding - you're uncovering actual secrets. It feels like real pirate lore instead of just another quest marker. If you're looking for something that goes deeper than the standard stuff, this one's definitely worth the time investment.
