So I've been scrolling through various cat meme coins lately and honestly, it's wild how many projects are trying to ride this trend. I get it though - after Dogecoin and Shiba Inu proved that pet-themed tokens could actually catch on, everyone's like why not cats? Especially since cat content absolutely dominates social media.

I've been looking at a few that people keep mentioning. MOG seems to be going for the whole ecosystem angle with games and community challenges, not just vibes. Popcat rode that viral meme wave from the click competition thing - apparently they're working on some click-to-earn games and NFTs tied to the original meme. MEW positioned itself as the underdog cat competing against all the dog coins, which is kind of funny. Then there's Shiro Neko with the Japanese kawaii aesthetic trying to build this whole feline hub with mini-games and collectibles. And Simon's Cat is leveraging an actual cartoon character that people already know.

Here's the thing though - I've watched enough cat meme coins come and go to know that most of them live or die based on community hype and actual utility. If they can't deliver beyond the meme, prices tank fast. The ones that might survive into 2026 and beyond are probably the ones actually building something - games, NFTs, real partnerships, not just riding the joke.

I'm not saying dump money into any of these, but if you're into cat meme coins, do your homework. Check their actual activity on social media, see if they've delivered on promises, look at the team. Diversify if you're going to play this space at all. The market's brutal and meme coins are basically the wildest part of it.
