just been reading about elon musk and honestly his whole presence is kind of wild. the guy's 6'2" which sounds like nothing but when you see him on stage at tesla or spacex events, he just looks bigger than life. not just physically but like... the energy he brings to a room is insane.
started digging into his background and it's pretty interesting. born in south africa in 1971, taught himself coding as a kid and sold his first game for $500 at 12. that's the kind of thing that tells you a lot about someone's mindset early on. moved to canada for university, then pennsylvania where he studied physics and economics. basically set himself up to understand both the tech and business sides from the beginning.
what's wild is how he went from zip2 to paypal to tesla to spacex. like each venture was bigger than the last. the paypal exit alone was massive, but then he actually went and started an electric car company and a space exploration company. most people would've just retired after one of those exits.
the crypto thing is interesting too. his tweets about bitcoin and dogecoin have literally moved markets. people joke about it but it's actually crazy how much influence one person can have on digital currencies. whether you think that's good or bad, it's undeniable.
health-wise he's not your typical fitness influencer type. skips meals because he's too busy working, loves barbecue and french food, does occasional weightlifting. basically prioritizes work over strict routines but knows he needs to stay functional.
what gets me is how he's become this blueprint for entrepreneurs. people look at tesla's mission on sustainable energy or spacex trying to colonize mars and think 'okay if he can do that, what's stopping me?' whether that's realistic or not, that mindset shift is pretty powerful.
anyway, the guy's definitely tall in more ways than one. curious what people think about his actual impact on markets and industries though.
