Do you know that kind of story that seems straight out of a movie? Well, in 2013, something like that happened to Ted Jorgensen, a bicycle shop owner in Arizona who was 69 years old at the time. The guy completely discovered out of nowhere that he was the biological father of Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon. Can you imagine the situation?
It all started when an author who was writing a book about Bezos contacted Jorgensen and told him the truth. Up until that moment, Ted had no idea about anything. When he saw photos of Bezos, his reaction was intense — shock, sadness, a lot of emotion. The man said something that really shows the weight: "I wasn't a good father or a good husband."
Although Jorgensen expressed hope of reconnecting with the Bezos family, the details of what happened afterward were not widely shared. It’s one of those stories that stays with you, you know? A whole life without knowing you are the father of one of the richest men in the world. Ted Jorgensen became part of Bezos’s story, even if from a distance.
