International oil prices continue to fall, nearly erasing all the gains since news broke about Iran firing missiles at U.S. warships. As of now, WTI crude oil futures are up 1.1%, trading at $103.03 per barrel; Brent crude oil futures are up 2.4%, trading at $110.78 per barrel. Previously, according to Iran’s Fars News Agency, two Iranian missiles “hit a U.S. warship.” However, the U.S. Central Command later issued a statement on social media saying that no U.S. Navy vessels were hit by Iranian missiles. In addition, an Iranian official said Iran carried out warning fire at a U.S. warship to prevent it from entering the Strait of Hormuz, and it is still unclear whether any damage was caused.
