The Guangzhou Super League and Guangdong BA have suddenly taken off and are pulling in money fast, driving nearly 110 million yuan in consumption in Guangzhou in the first quarter through ticket revenue.
Along with the Guangdong Super League events, as well as the earlier, hot-running Guangdong Basketball Association (GBA) matches, the “ticket stub economy” is also gaining momentum. A single ticket stub links consumption across the entire chain, further sparking the comprehensive driving effect of sports events. Reporters learned that during the events, multiple cities in Guangdong launched exclusive ticket-stub discount programs. Consumers can enjoy discounts on hotel dining and other offerings simply by presenting their ticket-purchase vouchers for the Guangdong Super League and GBA. In addition, during the events, consumers can also carry the “Follow the Event to Tour Guangdong” culture and tourism passport released by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and check in at multiple culture and tourism landmarks across the province. Through the deep integration of “events + culture and tourism,” match ticket stubs have become a pass for all-region consumption, effectively turning viewing traffic into consumption momentum. Taking Guangzhou as an example, in the first quarter of this year, the “ticket stub economy” issued subsidies of 5.15 million yuan, directly driving 21.25 million yuan in culture and tourism consumption and indirectly boosting nearly 1.1 billion yuan in consumption.
