just found out about this wild story and can't stop thinking about it. so ted jorgensen, this guy who owned a bike shop in arizona, didn't know until 2013 that he was actually jeff bezos's biological father. like, he had NO idea until someone writing a book about bezos literally told him.
when ted jorgensen saw pictures of bezos, he apparently got really emotional. said something like he wasn't a good father or husband. that's heavy. you can feel the regret there. i'm trying to imagine what that conversation must've been like - finding out your kid became literally one of the richest people in the world and you missed all of it.
the crazy part is they apparently never really reconnected after that. ted jorgensen wanted to reach out to the bezos family but it seems like nothing came of it. such a strange, bittersweet situation. makes you think about how many connections we miss in life, you know?
