BlockBeats News, May 4th, President Trump on Sunday stated on social media that, The U.S. will begin on Monday to guide some neutral ships stranded in the Persian Gulf out of the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. representatives are in “very positive discussions” with Iran, which could ultimately lead to a result that is “very beneficial” for all parties, but he did not disclose further details.
Trump said, “This move is purely to rescue those completely innocent personnel, businesses, and countries who are victims caught in the situation.” He also stated that if this humanitarian action is interfered with in any way, the U.S. will unfortunately have to respond with force.
According to a senior U.S. official, this new initiative, which Trump calls the “Freedom Plan,” aims to enable countries, insurance companies, and shipping organizations to coordinate vessel passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The official stated that, Currently, the plan does not involve U.S. Navy warships escorting ships through the strait.
