A long, long time ago, there was an old hunter who lived alone in the mountains for decades, with no wife or children, completely solitary.

A few months ago, while hunting in the mountains, he saw a white fox fall into a trap, struggling but unable to escape. The hunter was moved by compassion and released the white fox.
Strange as it sounds, from that day on, every day when the hunter returned home, there would be steaming white porridge on the stove.
The hunter was overjoyed, and when he ate it, the taste was very unusual, unlike anything from the mortal world.
One day, the old hunter was drinking porridge when a wandering Taoist priest passed by and saw this, and was greatly surprised, saying: "This is made by a fox spirit, it cannot be eaten!"
