Founded by billionaire Peter Thiel, the Founders Fund has completed a new round of fundraising for its flagship fund, reaching a size of $6 billion, far exceeding its previous fund of about $3.4 billion.

Insiders say the fund will focus on high-growth areas such as AI, defense technology, cryptocurrency, aerospace, and frontier technologies. The report notes that even amid a still-slow overall VC market in Silicon Valley, Founders Fund continues to attract a large amount of institutional capital, reflecting the market’s continued optimism about AI and hard-tech sectors. The firm previously invested in well-known companies such as SpaceX, Palantir Technologies, Stripe, and Facebook.
