CryptoWorld News reports that the Trump administration has ordered a halt to the development of U.S. onshore wind power project sites due to national security concerns, with approximately 165 projects affected. This is a major escalation in Trump’s fight against renewable energy. The U.S. Department of Defense is putting on hold the approval process for about 165 onshore wind power projects on private land, including wind farms awaiting final sign-off, some projects in the middle of negotiations, and certain projects that usually do not require DOD oversight. Among the affected projects, 35 have already completed negotiations and are awaiting DOD sign-off. Developers and consultants say more projects are currently facing a standstill: 30 have completed negotiations and received verbal approval, and are waiting for written confirmation; about 50 projects are in negotiations; and another roughly 50 projects could previously have been declared risk-free. These wind farms could generate 30 million kilowatts, enough to power 15 million family households.
