These past two days, the whole “social mining/points” routine has been flooding everyone’s feeds again. Badges are shining like the moon—lighting up people staying awake at midnight, stuck on those little tasks… To put it bluntly, most of the time it’s not really “building an identity.” It’s handing over your time to make liquidity for other people, and all you’re left with is exhaustion and a pile of screenshots. In AMM, at least I can see whether the pools are deep or whether the slippage hurts; on the social points side, slippage is a feeling—one refresh and suddenly there are a few thousand more people lining up.

And on top of that, in some regions taxes get added, and compliance gets tightened and loosened—one moment you’re expecting one thing, the next moment another—so everyone’s expectations for deposits and withdrawals get twisted around. That’s why people want to grab a “certainty” badge as a talisman even more. But I’ve gotten a little佛 now: if I can do it conveniently, I’ll do it. If not, then forget it. Don’t hollow out your life just for an identity. There are tons of tutorials, but I actually prefer the ones that clearly explain how the rules change—and how to avoid getting flipped back on. In any case, poetry can be written slowly; the points can end up writing people out of existence.
