According to Japanese media reports, on the 22nd, Japanese police arrested a South Korean man on suspicion of obstructing a shrine ritual activity. The report states that on that morning, the man hung a banner inside Yasukuni Shrine with messages such as “Stop visiting Yasukuni Shrine that worships war criminals.” After shrine personnel detained him, the police immediately arrested him. It is understood that the man resides in South Korea and entered Japan on the 20th. Yasukuni Shrine has held a three-day spring festival starting from the 21st. Located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, the shrine enshrines 14 Class-A war criminals from World War II, including Hideki Tojo. For a long time, some Japanese politicians and members of parliament have insisted on visiting Yasukuni Shrine, which has been strongly opposed by many peace-loving individuals within Japan and by the international community.
