The first meeting of the China-Cambodia Foreign Ministers and Defense Ministers “2+2” Strategic Dialogue Mechanism was held in Phnom Penh on the 22nd. Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun jointly presided over the meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Dith Tina.
The two sides exchanged in-depth views on bilateral relations, political security and defense security cooperation, international and regional situations, and reached broad consensus.
Both sides agreed that, in the face of the current international situation, they should maintain strategic clarity and strategic resolve, defend political and regime security, support each other’s core interests, and steadily promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields, continuously adding new connotations to the China-Cambodia community with a shared future;
coordinate the promotion of high-quality development and high-level security, oppose any forces to sow discord between China and Cambodia; deepen law enforcement and defense cooperation, work together to crack down on online gambling and telecom fraud, and safeguard their respective cybersecurity;
actively carry out cooperation within the framework of the four global initiatives, support resolving regional disputes through dialogue and negotiation, jointly oppose unilateral bullying and power politics, and uphold global free trade and international fairness and justice. (Xinhua News Agency)
