Li Auto’s Legal Department issued a statement on the evening of the 22nd, saying that recently, online rumors concerning “a certain user in Hangzhou whose vehicle system was hacked” and “Li Auto cooperating in the smuggling of vehicles for exiting the country” have been found, upon verification, to be seriously inconsistent with the facts. Li Auto’s Legal Department stated in the announcement that: 1. Li Auto has never been involved in any illegal transfer of the relevant vehicles, and the “smuggling” allegation is seriously inconsistent with the facts; 2. The remote operation of the vehicle was carried out by the actual vehicle registrant using the registrant’s own account, and it does not involve any “hacking”; 3. Based on the application of the vehicle registrant, Li Auto’s dealerships provided standard key services, and the operation process complies with regulations; 4. This incident involves complicated disputes among multiple parties. After preliminary verification, the physical vehicle keys had previously been passed to a third party. Li Auto will continue to legally cooperate with the police in conducting the investigation.
