Recently, everyone has been talking about IBC, various message passing, bridges going back and forth, and I’ve made a “version update” in my mind: I used to think cross-chain was just a click to transfer; now I confirm with a popup every time — who am I actually trusting this time?

Honestly, one cross-chain isn’t just trusting the source chain and target chain, but also trusting the “messenger,” the verifier, and whether the intermediate rules have been tampered with. Even if it all sounds “decentralized,” with more components, people’s mindsets tend to drift… I now see myself more as v1.1: prefer to go slower, write the path into logs, and avoid touching bridges I don’t understand.

Modularization, DA, and these narrative-driven developments make developers excited, but as a user, I’m a bit confused. In the end, it all comes down to myself: trust fewer slogans, trust more the processes I can review myself. That’s all for now.
