North Korean Hackers Stole $577M in Crypto This Year, 76% of Global Total

North Korean hackers stole about $577 million in cryptocurrency in the first four months of this year, equal to 76% of global hacking losses in the period. TRM Labs attributed the $292 million KelpDAO exploit to TraderTraitor, a subgroup of Lazarus Group, and linked a separate North Korean subgroup to the $285 million Drift Protocol attack. The report said North Korea’s cumulative crypto theft since 2017 has surpassed $6 billion.
