These days, I've come across a bunch of people talking about unlocking calendars, basically just anxiety over selling pressure. I tend to first check the project's GitHub and audit reports, even if I don't really understand code… but seeing if they are “consistently working” is a bit quieter than listening to the noisy group chat. Also, I’ll casually glance at the multi-signature upgrades; many pitfalls are not about price but about permissions.

For a beginner assessing credibility, I currently focus on three things: Don’t just look at stars on GitHub, check if recent commits are concentrated among a few people and if there are long periods of inactivity; don’t just look at “pass” for audits, see how high-risk issues are fixed and if there’s a re-review; for multi-signature, don’t just write “3/5,” check if signers are independent, if there’s a timelock, and if emergency permissions can be one-click changed. Anyway, I’d rather miss out on some hype than step into the uncertainty of “upgradeable at any time.”
