The charger on the desk is missing again. As I flip through the drawer, I think about cross-chain bridges: everyone complains that "waiting for confirmation" is slow, but honestly, those few minutes or tens of minutes are just waiting for you not to put your money into a box that hasn't stabilized yet. Multi-signature looks like "a few people watching is enough," but when people get tired or busy, they might miss something. More permissions also make things easier to go wrong; oracles are the same—just because the quote is fine doesn't mean the timing is correct. A slight delay or deviation, and the bridge might start acting up.

Recently, new L1/L2s have started offering incentives to boost TVL. Longtime users complain about "mining, claiming, selling," which I can understand. As traffic increases, the pressure and attack surface on the bridge also grow. Anyway, I personally prefer slower cross-chain transfers now, increasing confirmation counts, splitting amounts into smaller parts, to avoid shooting myself in the foot... If I really want speed, I’ll just accept that this transaction might have issues and mentally prepare for it.
