Interesting to see again who currently holds the most Bitcoins. Satoshi Nakamoto remains the undisputed leader with an estimated 1.1 million BTC, even though his coins have never been moved since the early days – this still makes the founder the most mysterious figure in Bitcoin history today.

The institutional players look exciting. One of the world's largest crypto exchanges holds over 550,000 BTC and has enormous influence on the global market. BlackRock follows with over 300,000 BTC – the entry of the world's largest asset manager shows how seriously traditional financial institutions are now taking Bitcoin. A leading US exchange holds nearly 300,000 BTC, emphasizing that traditional crypto platforms are also among the biggest holders.

There are also interesting names: Grayscale with over 260,000 BTC through its large Bitcoin fund, MicroStrategy with over 226,000 BTC as part of its corporate treasury strategy, the US government with about 213,000 BTC from seizures, and Fidelity with over 181,000 BTC. Even the Chinese government holds around 190,000 BTC, mainly from seized operations.

Who holds the most Bitcoins after Satoshi? Ultimately, it shows: it’s mainly large financial institutions and exchanges that shape the market. Remarkably, how concentrated the holdings are – this repeatedly raises the question of how decentralized Bitcoin really still is.
