North Korea-affiliated groups were linked to about 76% of global cryptocurrency hack losses in the first four months of 2026, or around $577 million, according to TRM Labs. TRM Labs said North Korea’s share of global crypto theft kept rising from prior years and reached 76% in 2026 after 64% in 2025. TRM Labs said the losses were driven mainly by an April attack on KelpDAO for $292 million and a $285 million theft from Drift Protocol.
