Have you ever heard of Erik Finman? This guy has one of the wildest Bitcoin success stories I’ve ever heard. It all started in 2011, when he was just 12 years old and school was definitely not his thing. He felt misunderstood by the entire education system and mentally underchallenged.

Then he received $1,000 from his grandmother. While other teenagers would have bought video games or a new phone with that, Erik Finman chose something completely different: Bitcoin. At that time, the price was just $12 per coin. Crazy, right? With that money, he bought about 83 Bitcoins and started studying the market while learning to program at the same time.

The story gets even better. In 2013, Bitcoin’s price exploded to $1,200, and Erik Finman suddenly held a portfolio worth nearly $100,000. But here’s the best part: he made a bet with his parents. He jokingly told them, “If I become a millionaire before I turn 18, I won’t go to college.” They laughed and agreed because they thought it was impossible.

But Erik Finman didn’t give up. He continued working on his projects, even founded an e-learning company called Botangle, and kept expanding his digital portfolio. In 2017, when Bitcoin skyrocketed, it was time: his portfolio surpassed the million-dollar mark. He had just turned 18 and kept his promise.

After this success, Erik Finman became a sought-after voice in the crypto community. He spoke at TEDx, became an advisor for various startups, and remains a big Bitcoin advocate to this day. His story simply shows that sometimes the unconventional path is the right one when you believe in your ideas and are willing to think differently from the rest.
