South Korea's Foreign Minister Had a Phone Call with Iran's Foreign Minister to Discuss Middle East Situation

On May 2nd local time, according to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, South Korean Foreign Minister Zhao Xian had a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi as scheduled in the evening, exchanging views on the Middle East situation. The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Araghchi briefed Zhao Xian on Iran’s position regarding US-Iran negotiations and other issues. Zhao Xian said that considering the impact of stability in the Middle East on global security and the economy, he hopes that peace and stability in the Middle East will be restored as soon as possible. Zhao Xian also mentioned that ships from multiple countries, including South Korea, are still stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, and the safe passage of all relevant vessels must be guaranteed.
