Reporters learned from the railway authorities that as of April 27, the annual throughput of the China-Europe Railway “China Passage” has reached 1,515 trains, transporting 144.9k standard containers, with year-on-year increases of 19.7% and 12.3%, respectively. As the only entry and exit port for the China-Europe Railway “China Passage,” the Erenhot Railway Port currently operates 75 routes, connecting to more than 70 hub stations in over 10 countries including Germany and Poland. Most of the domestic starting cities for the China-Europe Railway are within its coverage. As the scale of train operations gradually expands, the category structure of border-crossing cargo at the port continues to optimize and upgrade. The proportion of high value-added products such as new energy vehicles and accessories, high-end machinery equipment, and household appliances, representing “Chinese intelligent manufacturing,” has increased year by year. To better support the construction of the Erenhot area of the China (Inner Mongolia) Free Trade Pilot Zone and further improve the operational efficiency and service quality of the China-Europe Railway, the railway authorities, together with customs and other departments, are closely collaborating to fully promote the “Railway Fast Passage” model, reducing port clearance time to about 30 minutes.
