Recently, everyone keeps checking the unlocking calendar, afraid that once it’s unlocked, it’ll dump… Honestly, cross-chain is the bigger pitfall that can easily send you back to square one overnight. With a single IBC/message passing/bridge “cross-chain,” who exactly are you trusting? Let’s not even get into the chain’s own consensus—then you also have to trust: whether the light client/validator set updates are getting stalled, whether Relayers might cause trouble, whether channel/port permissions are being held by someone, whether the counterparty contract has left any backdoor (upgrade permissions love to hide traps), and on top of that, the front-end routing layer—if someone wants to mess with you, they really won’t be short of entry points.

“Isn’t IBC safer?”
Yes, but you still need to confirm you’re using IBC—not a bridge wearing IBC’s skin…

Now when I see narratives like “fast cross-chain + high returns,” my first reaction isn’t about profit—I ask: who can change the code? Who can stop the channel? Who can reroute the funds? Anyway, I’d rather cross less times and not have to get by on prayers.
