Just read about Roman Novak and this whole thing is honestly insane. Guy disappeared with half a billion in investor money, running this fake crypto app while claiming connections to Pavel Durov and major tech figures. Now he and his wife have been found murdered. Suspects are already in custody but still... the audacity of this scam is wild.

This Roman Novak case really hits different because it shows how elaborate these schemes get. People saw the big names attached and just trusted it immediately. That's the scary part. Crypto attracts these predators specifically because there's so much money moving around and people are hungry for quick gains.

Seriously though, what gets me is how many people probably fell for it. Half a billion doesn't come from a handful of victims. The Roman Novak story is a hard reminder that you can't just check if someone claims to know important people or work with tech giants. You actually have to dig, verify, do your own research. No shortcuts in this space, no matter how legit something looks on the surface.

Whole situation is dark but it's exactly the kind of cautionary tale we need to hear more of.
