Iran: A new governance model for the Persian Gulf region will be developed under the command of Iran's Supreme Leader
According to Iran’s state television on May 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement saying that a new management model and rules for the Persian Gulf region will be formulated and implemented under the command system of Iran’s Supreme Leader. The IRGC Navy Headquarters stated that the Revolutionary Guard has dominance and control over the Persian Gulf region and nearly 2,000 kilometers of Iran’s coastline along the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to make this waterspace a source of livelihood for the Iranian people and a source of security and prosperity for the region.
