Recently, many people ask me what copy trading is and how it actually works. I decided to explain it simply, especially for those who are just starting their trading journey.

First of all - copy trading is simply a way to invest without needing deep knowledge. Instead of analyzing the market yourself, you copy the trades of more experienced traders. Sounds simple? Because it is.

People often ask what copy trading is in the context of how exactly it functions. It’s about that when a selected trader buys or sells assets - stocks, cryptocurrencies, forex - the same operation appears automatically on your account. You don’t have to do anything; everything happens in real time.

To get started, you need a platform that offers this. Popular options include eToro, ZuluTrade, Covesting, or NAGA. On these platforms, you can browse available traders and check their history. Pay attention to how much they’ve earned in recent months, what risk they take, and whether they trade short-term or long-term.

Then you choose a trader and decide how much money you want to invest in them. If you deposit $1,000, and another user deposits $100, when the trader buys 10 stocks, both of you will receive a proportional amount. This happens automatically.

But why is copy trading interesting for beginners? Mainly because you don’t have to learn how to read charts or understand technical analysis. You have access to professional traders with many years of experience. You also save a lot of time - you don’t have to sit in front of the screen all day.

Of course, there are also downsides. First, past profits do not guarantee future results. Second, you rely on someone else’s judgment - if they make a bad decision, you also lose. Third, platforms often charge fees, and you have limited control over transactions.

If you want to try, start with a small amount. Don’t risk all your savings. Copy several different traders to diversify risk. Monitor your investments and use stop-loss orders to protect yourself from big losses.

Copy trading is a cool way to enter financial markets without being an expert. But remember - it always involves risk. Invest wisely and never more than you can afford to lose.
