Interesting historical fact: the scope of the Ottoman Empire's influence was simply enormous. When you look at a map of its territories, you understand why this empire was called one of the most powerful in history.

In Europe, the Ottoman Empire ruled for centuries. Turkey was under its control for 623 years, Bulgaria for 515 years, North Macedonia for 542 years. Greece experienced 370-520 years of occupation depending on the region. Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina were under the empire's rule for about 400+ years each. Even Albania was under Turkish rule for 527 years.

In the Caucasus, the situation was similar. Georgia, Dagestan, Kabardino, and neighboring regions of Russia fell within the Ottoman Empire's sphere of influence for several centuries. Armenia and Azerbaijan also experienced Turkish dominance, though for a shorter period.

In Central Asia and the Middle East, the power of the Ottoman Empire was absolute. Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon were under control for over 400 years. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen also belonged to it or were dependent territories.

The African continent was also not spared from its influence. Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Sudan were under Ottoman rule for 300-400 years. Even distant regions like Eritrea and Djibouti fell within its sphere of power.

This truly demonstrates the scale of one of the greatest empires in human history.
