Recently, I saw a bunch of PFP/member passes talking about "brand consensus," sounding quite lively, but I always ask myself first: besides profile pictures and group chat identities, what can they really offer me in the long term? Frankly, the long-term value should be able to withstand market fluctuations, and ideally, it should be tied to products or benefits; otherwise, once the hype passes, all that's left are emojis.

Layer 2 now also seems quite similar, constantly comparing TPS, transaction fees, and subsidies, with heated debates flying around. Attention is captured, but user habits and real revenue models haven't kept up, so they'll need to change their pitch again after a while. Anyway, I, as a "snack profit" enthusiast, would rather slowly earn from stable pools than chase after those one-wave member narratives.

I no longer believe in the phrase "as long as the community is lively, there will be value." For now, let's keep observing and not get carried away.
