The latest monthly global seasonal climate update report from the World Meteorological Organization shows significant changes in the climate of the equatorial Pacific region: sea surface temperatures are rising rapidly, indicating that El Niño may reappear as early as May to July 2026.
Forecasts indicate that in the next three months, nearly the entire globe's land surface temperatures will be above normal levels, and rainfall patterns will vary by region.
