World Meteorological Organization: It is expected that the El Niño phenomenon will begin to appear around mid-2026

On April 24th local time, the World Meteorological Organization stated that an El Niño phenomenon is expected to occur starting from mid-2026, which will affect global temperature and rainfall patterns.
The latest monthly global seasonal climate update report from the World Meteorological Organization shows significant changes in the climate of the equatorial Pacific region: sea surface temperatures are rising rapidly, indicating that El Niño may reappear as early as May to July 2026.
Forecasts indicate that in the next three months, nearly the entire globe’s land surface temperatures will be above normal levels, and rainfall patterns will vary by region.
