AI agents are "too smart" to make money from trading (Bloomberg)

➤ One example: a developer trained a bot in his trading style and launched it with $100,000 in simulation mode. In the first week – one successful decision and a series of losing trades.

➤ The bot correctly ignored Nvidia's rise, avoiding about $10,000 in losses, but then started losing money on speculative trades.

➤ After tuning, the result was +7% for the month compared to about 4.5% for the S&P 500. Meanwhile, portfolio drawdowns reached up to -22%.

➤ The main problem: AI agents are "too smart" by default. Models are trained on financial advice and try to avoid risk, choosing boring assets.

➤ At the same time, the trend is gaining momentum – traders are massively handing over trades to AI agents, despite unstable results.
