These past few days, I've been struggling again with wallet solutions, mainly because I was previously hurt by impermanent loss from providing liquidity, which made me become very cautious... When the asset amount isn't large, I think a hardware wallet is enough, and at most, keep a clean phone with a split seed phrase; but once there's some scale, single point failures are really scary, multi-signature can at least split up the risks of "my shaky hands making mistakes / losing the device / being phished." Social recovery sounds very nice, but honestly, it's like insurance or a social debt; if the guardian isn't chosen well, it can cause more anxiety. Recently, with the collapse of the on-chain game inflation + studio + coin price spiral, I am even more convinced: don't treat security as "something to do later," start with the standard that allows you to sleep peacefully.
