After reading the police incident report, I broke out in a cold sweat 😥

At around 5 p.m. when it happened, I was buying groceries at Yonghui Supermarket in Chengdu Hi-tech Yintai City—never did I expect that, at the same time, such a severely vicious hit-and-run incident would occur on the nearby road.
It resulted in 1 death and 11 injuries. I really sympathize with what the victims went through (breaking out in cold sweat—so close to me). For the driver who did it, I genuinely look down on him from the bottom of my heart.
This kind of person—at the end of the day—is the most cowardly. He has hatred in his heart, but he doesn’t dare confront the real person who causes him pain head-on. All he does is hide inside a metal shell, drive his car into a crowd of innocent people, and take out his rage on strangers who have never met him and pose no threat.
He bullies the weak and fears the strong, using the most innocent passersby as a punching bag—this isn’t “fighting to the death,” it’s plain and simple cowardice.
But what surprises me is that this happened to him and this happened in Chengdu, a city known for comfort and leisurely living. It looks like the “malice/ill will” in today’s society in China has already sunk deep into the bones, and it has nothing to do with the city.
Finally, I hope the deceased rest in peace, and that the injured recover as soon as possible. I also hope everyone pays attention to safety when traveling and lives every day and every moment with joy—because we can never know who will face tomorrow or unexpected events first? 🙏
