My biggest recent realization: not holding spot because of large positions, as the price swings quickly shake out your emotions; futures also frequently get liquidated, basically the same thing—leverage just amplifies the "inability to withstand."

Forget it, to put it simply: treat the part you can sleep peacefully with as your position, and don't touch the rest. If you really want to trade futures, just treat it like buying a lottery ticket—small enough that losing it all won't affect your mood tomorrow.

And then there's that "unlock calendar" that floods the screens every day, causing selling pressure anxiety. Watching it too much makes me want to add or reduce positions back and forth...
Right now, I'm focusing on one thing: if the unlock really hits, can I still hold according to my original plan? If not, don't pretend to be long-term. Shrink your position to a size you can handle in advance.
Anyway, I don't want to trade relying on willpower anymore.
