Trump Says Iran Negotiations Have Made Progress, But Not Enough

On May 2, U.S. President Trump stated that Iran has made ‘significant progress’ towards reaching an agreement, but he is unsure ‘if they will ultimately be able to reach a deal.’ Regarding the possibility of a new round of face-to-face talks in Pakistan, Trump mentioned that the U.S. ‘respects’ Pakistan and its leaders, but that ‘the journey is very long.’ He noted that all current negotiations are being conducted via phone.
