Trump Raises EU Auto Tariffs to 25%, Exempts U.S.-Built Vehicles

Trump said the United States will raise tariffs on European Union cars and trucks to 25% next week. Trump framed the move as enforcement of the July 2025 Turnberry framework, which had lowered U.S. auto duties on European cars to 15%. The measure exempts vehicles built at U.S. plants. Trump’s post did not link the tariff move to Iran.
