Trump Discusses Possibility of New Face-to-Face Talks: 'The Journey is Very Long', Currently Conducting Negotiations via Phone

On May 2, U.S. President Trump stated that Iran has made ‘significant progress’ in reaching an agreement, but he is unsure ‘if they will ultimately be able to reach a deal.’ Regarding the possibility of a new round of face-to-face talks in Pakistan, Trump mentioned that the U.S. ‘respects’ Pakistan and its leaders very much, but ‘the journey is very long,’ and currently all negotiations are being conducted via phone. According to monitoring by PolyBeats, the probability of a ‘next round of U.S.-Iran diplomatic meetings’ on the prediction market Polymarket was 6% five days ago, 25% fifteen days ago, and 48% before the end of this month.
