**Creator on Facebook Can Monetize Content and Get Paid in USDC**

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has begun launching a payment scheme for content creators on its social media using the stablecoin USD Coin (USDC).
This system is processed through Stripe. However, unfortunately, this monetization scheme is currently only available in countries like Colombia and the Philippines, with support from the Solana-Polygon network.
This scheme is designed to accelerate cross-border payments while reducing transfer costs compared to traditional fiat methods. The use of stablecoins also helps reduce exchange rate friction in global monetization for creators.
Previously, the company had tried its own crypto project called Libra and later rebranded it to Diem, but opposition from U.S. and European authorities halted those efforts. However, Meta is now leveraging third-party stablecoins to strengthen the creator economy on its platform.
