Mars Finance News: The Crypto Market Structure Act may be advanced in mid-May.
This Wednesday, key figures involved in the cryptocurrency bill negotiations, North Carolina Republican Senator Thom Tillis, stated that he has requested the Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott, to expedite hearings so that the bill can be amended and voted on.
Additionally, another negotiation representative, Angela Alsobrooks, said that if legislators want to hold bipartisan votes in the Senate Banking Committee, they need to address issues related to illegal financing and ethics.
However, Senate Chairman Scott indicated that he believes the ethics provisions do not need to be reviewed by his committee.
It is currently unclear where this provision will be submitted next, or whether it should be reviewed by other committees, but it is likely that discussions will be needed before submitting it to a full Senate vote.
