Been hunting for cheap gift cards lately and honestly there are way more spots to find them discounted than I realized. Like, warehouse clubs are kind of the obvious move if you've got a membership -- Costco and Sam's Club both let you grab gift cards at 20-30% off, which is wild. I didn't know they had such a range either, from restaurants to gaming stuff.
Also just discovered that credit card rewards portals are actually solid for this. If you're sitting on points anyway, the holidays apparently see the best deals on gift cards through those programs. And then there's the retailer themselves -- I've seen banners on checkout pages offering bonus cards when you spend a certain amount.
Cash back apps like Rakuten have whole sections dedicated to discount gift card sites, so that's worth checking out if you use them already. Some give you the discounted price upfront, others throw cash back on top.
The sketchy option is reseller marketplaces like eBay where people offload gift cards they're not using, usually at a discount. I get why people do it but there's definitely risk involved -- you can't always verify the balance is actually there. eBay has buyer protection but it gets murky with gift cards specifically.
Basically if you're smart about where you look, you can find discount gift card sites that'll save you real money. The trick is knowing these places exist in the first place.
