I'm currently quite restrained when using the mainnet, not because I can't afford the gas fees, but mainly because the experience of "click once and then wait half a day with my heart racing" is too discouraging. For daily small transactions, claiming airdrops, or testing new protocols, I mostly use L2 solutions first—quick to get started and cost-controlled; but for large transfers, long-term positions, or contract addresses I don't fully trust yet, I still prefer to spend a bit more to go back to the mainnet for peace of mind. The compromise is: frequency on L2, certainty on the mainnet.
Recently, the debate over NFT royalties also seems similar—everyone wants a smooth experience with high liquidity, but creators' livelihoods can't be completely ignored... Honestly, many conflicts on the chain boil down to choosing between "cheap and certain."
What I fear most isn't missing out on opportunities, but gradually losing my sense of risk in the process of saving small amounts of money and trying to be convenient.
