So I was peeling an orange the other day and my dog gave me that look, you know? Turns out oranges are totally safe for dogs, just gotta be smart about it. Found out they're packed with vitamin C and fiber which is pretty cool for their immune system and digestion. Apparently you can give them mandarin oranges or tangerines too, but same rules apply - just a few slices here and there. The key thing is removing the peel and seeds first because those can actually mess with their stomach pretty bad. One to three slices max per day, and definitely don't overdo it or your pup might get an upset stomach. Also if your dog has diabetes, skip the oranges since they're higher in sugar. My vet said fresh orange is way better than canned since those are loaded with extra sugar. Honestly it's a nice alternative to regular treats on a hot day since oranges are like 90% water. Just checked with my vet before giving it to my dog to be safe - probably smart to do that too if you're thinking about it for yours.
