So I've been trying to get more steps in, right? And I just realized there's actually a whole bunch of apps that'll pay you or give you rewards just for walking. Like, why didn't I know about this sooner?
I started looking into the best walking app for money situation and honestly there's way more options than I expected. Some of them are pretty straightforward - you just walk, they track your steps, you get gift cards or whatever. Others are a bit more creative, like you can turn your miles into charity donations instead of cash if that's your thing.
Evidence and Charity Miles seem solid if you want actual rewards. Evidation connects to your fitness tracker and you rack up points - supposedly you can hit 10k points and cash out for like $10. Charity Miles is cool because you're literally turning your walks into donations to charities you actually care about. That's kind of a vibe.
Then there's the betting angle with StepBet where you basically wager on yourself to hit step goals over six weeks. Takes some commitment but apparently they guarantee you won't lose money if you actually hit your targets. Paidtogo is another one people talk about - you can earn up to like 10 cents per mile, so it actually adds up if you're consistent.
I downloaded a couple to test it out. Honestly, none of these are gonna make you rich or replace your job, but if you need that extra push to actually go outside and move, the little rewards do hit different. Even if it's just a coffee gift card or whatever.
The best walking app for money really depends what motivates you though - some people want actual cash, others just want Amazon gift cards, and some genuinely prefer the charity angle. I'm still figuring out which one I'll stick with, but it's wild that this is even an option now. Anyone else using these apps? Which one's actually worth it?
