OpenAI-supported robot startup 1X opens a new factory in the United States
According to Beating Monitoring, Bloomberg reported that 1X Technologies, a robot startup founded in Norway and supported by OpenAI, has activated a brand-new 58,000-square-foot factory in Hayward, California, aiming to move first into the mass production of consumer humanoid robots.
The facility will be completed within a few months and will serve as its manufacturing center, with expected first-year production capacity of up to 10,000 robots. 1X executives said the company plans to produce a cumulative total of 100,000 robots by the end of 2027, and is also building a larger production base in San Carlos, California. The company expects to begin delivering products by the end of this year.
