honestly been thinking about this lately because i realized i was paying for like 6 different subscriptions and actually using maybe 2 of them lol. the charges just kept hitting my card every month and i didn't even notice. pretty sure a lot of people are in the same boat.
there's actually some solid apps that track subscriptions now that make it way easier to see what you're spending. i looked into a few and they're honestly pretty helpful if you're trying to get your finances in check.
Truebill is one that does a lot - it tracks your money overall and finds all your subscriptions automatically. they even have someone who can cancel stuff for you if you pay for that service, which sounds lazy but also kind of genius. then there's Subby which is more basic but free, you just add things manually and it reminds you when renewals are coming. Outflow is another option that lets you connect your email and it'll suggest subscriptions you might have forgotten about, which is actually clever. and Bobby is similar - you add your subs manually and it shows you the total damage.
the thing is, these subscription tracking apps aren't that complicated but they actually work. like, just seeing the total number adds up way faster than you'd think. between streaming, fitness, meal kits, whatever else - suddenly you're looking at hundreds a month on stuff you maybe don't even use anymore.
i think the main point is that if you're not keeping track of your subscriptions, you're probably bleeding money without realizing it. takes like 10 minutes to set up one of these apps and could save you hundreds. kind of a no-brainer honestly.
