Just saw AdvisorShares launched two new ETFs today that caught my attention. One's focused on drone tech (UAV), the other on bitcoin futures (CRYP). The UAV ETF is interesting because it's not just about delivery drones—they're covering the whole ecosystem including autonomous vehicles, eVTOL aircraft, even agricultural and construction applications. Their pitch is that drone tech is gonna accelerate as an investment opportunity.
The CRYP side is more tactical. It's actively managed bitcoin exposure through futures and spot ETFs, so the managers can dial up or down based on their price forecasts. When they think bitcoin's heading up, they go full exposure. When signals point down, they shift to fixed income. Morgan Creek's running the show on that one.
I'm not sure how much the active management angle really moves the needle versus just holding spot bitcoin, but the drone angle is legitimately interesting if you think autonomous tech is gonna reshape logistics and infrastructure. UAV ETF seems like it could be a play on that broader theme. Thoughts on whether these are worth looking at?
