Guotai Haitong Asset Management and Haitong Asset Management have completed the absorption and merger settlement.
Mars Finance News: On April 30, Guotai Haitong announced that on April 30, Guotai Haitong Asset Management and Haitong Asset Management signed a settlement agreement. From the settlement date (i.e., April 30, 2026), all assets, liabilities, businesses, personnel, contracts, qualifications, accounts, and all other rights and obligations of Haitong Asset Management will be legally assumed by Guotai Haitong Asset Management. After the settlement date, Haitong Asset Management will handle matters such as the cancellation of its corporate legal-entity qualifications in accordance with laws and regulations. This absorption merger of a securities firm’s asset management company is the first case in the industry; it was launched at the end of July 2025 and took 9 months. The merger work covers all fields, including front- and back-office areas such as corporate governance, market channels, product systems, and system operations. (Company Announcement)
