Stripe and Cloudflare enable the programming agent to autonomously open accounts and deploy card processing; users only need to log in.

According to Beating Monitoring, Stripe and Cloudflare have jointly launched Stripe Projects, an open protocol that enables AI programming agents to autonomously complete the full process from “zero to launch” end to end. Users only need to log in to their Stripe account, and the agent can automatically enable a Cloudflare account, purchase a domain, subscribe to paid services, obtain an API token, and deploy code—without manual registration, entering credit card information, or copying keys.

The protocol is divided into three layers.

Discovery: The agent queries an available services directory via a REST API and decides which services to use.

Authorization: Stripe acts as the identity provider. After Cloudflare receives Stripe’s identity proof, it automatically opens an account or authorizes an already existing account via OAuth. After the credentials are encrypted and stored, they are returned to the agent.

Payment: Stripe tokenizes the user’s payment information and sends it to the service provider; the credit card number does not pass through the agent. Stripe sets a default spending cap of 100 USD per month for each service provider to prevent the agent from overspending. The protocol is based on existing standards such as OAuth, OIDC, and payment tokenization.

In addition to Cloudflare, the first batch of onboarded service providers also includes Vercel, Supabase, Clerk, PostHog, Sentry, PlanetScale, Inngest, and more. The protocol is open: any platform with logged-in users can serve as an Orchestrator and connect to Cloudflare or other service providers in the same way. Cloudflare also syncs 100,000 USD credits to new startups registered via Stripe Atlas.
