Superstitions to Pay Attention to in Daily Life

First, suppose a group of people are sitting together chatting, and just as you're about to speak, an object suddenly falls. Before you finish speaking, remember—if you haven't spoken yet, don't say anything. This is called external response in superstitions.

Second, if you work hard and reach the upper levels, relying on your own strength and background, you can continue to keep working hard. If you rely on luck and benefactors, then you must understand the importance of self-preservation—"a dragon regrets its arrogance," "retreat in the face of danger." This is called assessing the situation, thinking of danger and retreating, which is great wisdom and a life philosophy.

Third, this is very important but rarely practiced: do not speak ill of yourself. It’s better to say a thousand good words about yourself than to say even one bad word. This is called avoiding bad omens, and we often overlook this point.

Fourth, before making an important decision, you can first go and enjoy your favorite meal. Taste it and see how it is. If the flavor has changed, then you should think carefully about the decision. This is called a clever insight!

Fifth, never complain about anyone or anything, because to some extent, the more resentment you hold, the harder things become. This is called "resentment breeds self-inflicted misfortune."
